Caring for your diamonds

Diamonds may be the hardest natural substance known to man, but they need looking after. Soap, cosmetics, cooking grease, natural skin oils – these can dull any gem. But if you care for it and keep it clean, your diamond will reflect more light and actually look bigger.
Be careful not to get chlorine bleach on your jewellery. It won't damage the diamond, but it can pit or discolour the mounting. Also, don’t wear your diamond to do heavy work. Even a diamond can be chipped by a hard blow along its grain. Diamonds can also scratch each other, as well as other stones and metals. So keep them separate from your other jewellery.
Give your diamonds an annual 'check-up'. Over the course of the Adya Diamonds ten year diamond guarantee, one of our craftsmen will check and clean your jewellery once a year, free of charge, to keep it in perfect condition.
Cleaning your Diamond
Brush your jewellery gently with a toothbrush in a bowl of warm, liquid detergent suds. Then put it in a wire strainer and rinse under a warm tap, before patting it dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
